Anisensei started from a simple love for anime and manga, and it slowly grew into a store made for fellow fans who love collecting their favorite stories and characters.

The name Anisensei comes from combining two words: Anime and Sensei.
For me, “Sensei” means a guide or teacher. Through Anisensei, my goal is to guide and help fellow fans discover, collect, and enjoy their favorite anime items, from manga and anime merchandise to books and other anime-related collectibles. This store is not just about selling products. It’s about sharing passion and helping collectors grow their collections with confidence.

How My Anime Journey Began

My journey with anime started in 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown. At that time, I was still in Senior High School, and classes shifted from face-to-face to online learning. Suddenly, I had a lot of free time at home.

Like many people, I started binge-watching shows on Netflix. I watched series like Money Heist, The Umbrella Academy, Stranger Things, and many more. One day, while browsing Netflix, I saw an anime title that was about to be released in March 2020. It was Assassination Classroom.

I got excited because when I was younger, I had seen a few episodes on TV, but I thought it was just a cartoon. At that time, I didn’t fully understand what anime really was. So I decided to give it a try.

That decision changed everything.

I got completely hooked. I watched all the episodes, laughed, cried, and felt empty after the ending because it was so good and emotional. To ease the sadness, I looked for another anime to watch, and that led me to Food Wars. After finishing that, anime slowly became my main form of entertainment.

From watching a few episodes, it turned into 5 to 10 episodes a day.
Even until now, I still watch anime regularly. Every year, I start a long anime series on the first day of the year and watch one episode per day. Whenever I have free time, I also enjoy watching seasonal and older titles.

Discovering Manga and the Birth of Anisensei

Around September 2020, I became curious about where anime stories begin. That’s when I learned that most anime starts from manga or light novels.

The first manga I ever read was SPY×FAMILY. At that time, it was very popular because of its unique story and characters. I read it online, and I instantly fell in love with it. I told myself, “I want to collect this manga. I want the physical volumes.”

The problem was money.

During the lockdown, I created a small YouTube tech channel. By 2021, I earned my first income. It wasn’t much, but it meant a lot to me. I started thinking about how I could grow that money. I tried blogging and creating websites, but I struggled and lost motivation.

One day, while exploring my website, I discovered its e-commerce feature. I enjoyed editing and designing it. That’s when the idea came to me:

From One Volume to a Growing Store

Because I wanted to collect manga myself, I thought selling manga could help me fund my own collection. I researched everything and built a small online store. Using the remaining money from my YouTube earnings, I bought a small quantity of SPY×FAMILY Volume 07.

That was my very first stock.

After a few months, I sold all of them.

From there, the journey continued. Little by little, the store grew. Orders increased, products expanded, and my love for anime and manga turned into something bigger than I ever expected.

Today, Anisensei Manga Store continues to grow step by step. I constantly improve our services, our website, and the overall shopping experience to make every customer happy and comfortable.
